Home calls are attended by a doctor who does this work specifically, so the visit is not squeezed in between hospital consultations.

The home visit line is open at any hour. The visit time is then fixed with you, subject to doctor availability.

Every home visit carries a fixed visiting charge, shown in the charges card on this page. Care Card holders get their card’s discount on it. Any nursing procedure or other service is charged separately, and we confirm the amount with you when the visit is booked, before anyone travels.
Orchid has a doctor dedicated to home visits rather than sending whichever consultant happens to be free. The doctor for your visit is assigned when the booking is confirmed, which is why the OPD consultant list on this site does not apply to home visits.
A home visit covers examination, diagnosis, prescriptions, injections, dressings, post-surgery follow-up and routine checks. It cannot cover emergencies, surgery, imaging such as X-ray or sonography, or anything needing oxygen support or admission-level monitoring — those need the hospital.
The home visit doctor works out of the same hospital, so if admission is needed the case moves straight to the relevant Orchid department with the findings already recorded, instead of the family repeating everything at a reception desk.
